We began collaborating in 2002 when we were asked to show our work in the gallery at Oklahoma City University. Christina was chosen as the painter, and Robin was chosen as the sculptor. After talking about how the show would look, what we both believed about making art, and discussing how and why we work abstractly, we decided to collaborate on a couple of charcoal drawings. We worked well together, and the collaboration came easily. Those first drawings led to a whole gallery of collaborative work—steel sculptures, large charcoal drawings, and over a hundred medium-sized paintings.
We’ve worked together ever since while still continuing our own work. Christina just had a show in the large gallery at the Oklahoma State Capitol, and Robin is working on an eight by twenty-five foot sculpture for a private collector.
Christina has a BFA in painting/printmaking from the Kansas City Art Institute, attended the Chautauqua School of Art, and has her MEd in Early Childhood/Montessori Education from Oklahoma City University. Robin has a BS in Studio Art from Skidmore and attended The Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture.
