Rainy Day Lemon 5" x 7" Christina Pickard & Robin Orbach Starke $100

Not to acquiesce to the thoroughly gray and mediocre day outside, but we thought that this was a fitting rerun choice. Anyway, we liked the little bit of light sneaking in from the right, and this is a painting that hasn't gotten its share of the rerun love. Props to the blue lemon.

If you have any questions or would like to purchase today's painting, "Rainy Day Lemon," email us at....

We take cashews, toasted pecans, scarves, money orders, cashier's checks, and personal checks.

Lucha Landscape #3 5" x 7" Christina Pickard & Robin Orbach Starke $100

We're still in rerun mode, but we hadn't seen the luchadors lately, so we started poking around in our vault and found this post. Right next to the gold bars and sacks of Krugerrands, there was this landscape post about a painting we both love. Enjoy.

We love the colors in this painting. They’re a quirky, particular sort of mix, and while we were passing the painting back and forth, each of us adding a couple of layers, we fell in love with the way that these colors looked together—they just clicked. Since we also seem to be enamored with sequins lately, and our preoccupation with the graphic depiction of eyes in Lucha Libre continues unabated, we also like the way that these absurdly goofy colors emphasize the forms and texture of the painting.

Daquiri Ice #2 5" x 7" Christina Pickard & Robin Orbach Starke $100

More than an ode to Baskin Robbins today, we've got a little BR/Homer/Philip Guston mash-up going on. We liked it. It felt good. Kinda graphic, kinda expressionistic, good colors. Rest assured we will never create ANY sort of Braum's mash-up. Well, maybe cherry limeade related, but come on, Braum's is sort of its own mash-up every time you walk in the door. Enjoy the Daquiri Ice.

Daquiri Ice #4 5" x 7" Christina Pickard & Robin Orbach Starke $100

It's gray and cold again, so we thought we would dip into the summertime vault again. At some point in the semi-near future, our lives will not be crazy, and we will photograph and post our most recent batch of fresh donutz. Until then, like television networks during the writer's strike, we're trotting out the reruns. Who loves ya, baby.

Daquiri Ice #1 5" x 7" Christina Pickard & Robin Orbach Starke $100

It's cold, gray, and rainy. And, yes, it's been nearly three weeks since our last post. Since then, Christina taught out of town for a while; Robin saved two wayward dogs (BIG wayward dogs), and sorted through fifty years worth of stuff at her dad's house, and we all fell into a triptifan-induced, post-holiday stupor that we're loath to leave. Hey, it's gray outside, what do you expect? Anyway, we picked a rerun from the halcyon days of late summer. Sunny and 85 degrees--it all seems like a dream.

We've got a little ode to Baskin Robbins workin' here. And, oh, by the way, we shouldn't have to drive halfway across the county (up to Edmond) just to get a little taste of the sweet, sweet Daquiri goodness. BR, where's a store in our 'hood?

Also, don't try to tell us we could go to Braum's for some neighborhood ice cream. No. We can't. Braum's is only good for three things. Milk. Limeades (cherry or plain). And screwing up your order.
