Paintings Made Fresh Daily by Christina and Robin
This first set of paintings is based on photographs, images, and memories of the State Fair of Oklahoma. We both grew up going to the fair each year and absolutely LOVING it. Corn dogs. Funnel cakes. Rickety rides. Barns full of smelly animals. Interesting people. The fair is a hundred-year-old rite of passage for many Oklahomans, and we NEVER miss it.
This year, we took lots of twilight photos. We both love the peacefulness of the early evening, day shifting into night, and it was fascinating to see those beautiful azure blues juxtaposed with the bright lights and sounds of the rides on the Midway.
It was a chaotic Friday night at the fair, and hopefully our paintings reflect that.

I love your paintings! Found you this morning on the Daily Paintings site. Though I am commenting on an old blog entry, I am looking through them all.
Thanks so much, Martha. We really love hearing that people enjoy our work. Sorry for the late reply--we're new to the blogging world and so have forgotten to check for comments.
